Products Description
overview
In the event of a fire, a foam concentrate pump injects the foam concentrate-stored within an atmospheric-pressure vessel-into a balancing valve. Through the regulating action of the balancing valve, the foam concentrate mixes with the pressurized water flowing through the main line of the proportioner to form a foam mixture at a specific ratio.
This foam mixture is then conveyed to foam generators, foam handlines, foam monitors, or other foam-generating equipment to produce air foam for extinguishing Class A, B, and C liquid fires.

FAQ
Q: What is a Foam Pump System?
A foam pump system is a fire suppression system that uses a pump to deliver foam concentrate and water at the correct ratio to extinguish flammable liquid fires (Class B fires). It ensures consistent foam proportioning and pressure.
Q: How does a foam pump system work?
The system typically includes:
A water pump
A foam concentrate pump
A proportioning device or controller
The foam pump injects foam concentrate into the water stream at a preset ratio (e.g., 3% or 6%), creating a foam solution that is discharged through nozzles or monitors.
Q: What are the main types of foam pump systems?
Common types include:
Balanced Pressure Foam Pump Systems
Inline Foam Pump Systems
Variable Speed Foam Pump Systems
Around-the-Pump Proportioning Systems
Each type differs in how it controls pressure and foam proportioning accuracy.
Q: What is the advantage of a foam pump system?
Accurate foam proportioning
Stable performance over varying flow rates
Suitable for large-scale hazards
Compatible with automation systems
Reduced foam concentrate waste
Q: Where are foam pump systems used?
They are widely used in:
Oil & gas facilities
Chemical plants
Fuel storage terminals
Airports
Marine and offshore platforms
