Working Principle
The working principle of the wet alarm valve is to control the opening and closing of the flaps based on the water pressure in the pipe network system. In the standby state, when the water supply pressure fluctuates slightly, the function of the bypass balance pipe balances the valve disc. The upper pressure surface of the valve disc is larger than the lower pressure surface, which prevents the valve disc from opening and causing a false alarm.
When a fire occurs, the spray and blast cause the water pressure in the pipe network system to drop. The pressure difference between the water supply side and the system side opens the valve flap, allowing the water to flow through the nozzle for continuous fire suppression.
The control ball valve between the wet alarm valve alarm port and retarder must remain fully open and locked, while the test alarm control ball valve must be closed.
When a test alarm is required
Remove the locking device on the control ball valve between the alarm port and the retarder and close it. At this point, the alarm test can be performed by opening the test alarm control ball valve.
Immediately after the test, the two control ball valves should be restored to their original positions.
