Production introduction
Foinbo® Vertical Foam Chamber is a specialized fire protection device designed to deliver low-expansion foam directly onto the surface of flammable or combustible liquids stored in vertical fixed-roof tanks (e.g., cone-roof tanks). Its primary function is to suppress fires by forming a continuous foam blanket that starves the fuel of oxygen, cools the liquid surface, and prevents vapor release. Unlike horizontal models, vertical chambers are optimized for tanks with limited horizontal space, ensuring efficient foam distribution even in narrow or irregularly shaped storage areas.
Working Principle
- Foam Solution Generation: A foam proportioning system (e.g., bladder tank or inline inductor) mixes water with foam concentrate (3% or 6% AFFF) to create a solution.
- Air Aspiration: The foam chamber introduces ambient air into the solution via a venturi effect, creating a homogeneous foam with controlled expansion.
- Discharge: The foam exits through the outlet and cascades onto the tank surface, forming a protective blanket within seconds.

FAQ
Q: What is a Vertical Foam Chamber?
A: A Vertical Foam Chamber is a fire protection device designed to deliver low-expansion foam directly onto the surface of flammable liquids in vertical fixed-roof storage tanks, suppressing fires by forming a foam blanket.
Q: What materials are used in its construction?
A: Typically constructed from carbon steel or stainless steel, with epoxy-based coatings (e.g., red epoxy paint) for corrosion resistance.
Q: What is the working pressure range?
A: The working pressure ranges from 0.3–0.6 MPa (3–6 bar), with test pressures up to 12 bar to ensure structural integrity.
Q: What flow rates are available?
A: Flow rates vary by model: 4 L/s (PCL4), 8 L/s (PCL8), 16 L/s (PCL16), and 24 L/s (PCL24), accommodating tanks of different capacities.
Q: What is the purpose of the orifice plate?
A: The orifice plate regulates foam solution flow and pressure, ensuring consistent performance across varying tank sizes.
