Production introduction
A Diaphragm Type Deluge Valve is a critical component in fire protection systems, designed to rapidly release large volumes of water or foam to suppress fires in high-risk environments. Utilizing a diaphragm-based mechanism, this valve ensures reliable, instantaneous activation while maintaining tight sealing under pressure.
The valve features a flexible diaphragm that separates the water supply chamber from the control chamber. In its resting state, water pressure in the control chamber holds the diaphragm against the valve seat, keeping the system closed. When a fire is detected (via manual release, heat sensors, or smoke detectors), the control pressure is released, allowing supply pressure to lift the diaphragm and open the valve. This enables unrestricted flow of water or foam to all connected sprinklers or nozzles simultaneously.
Applications:
- High-Hazard Areas: Oil refineries, chemical plants, and aircraft hangars.
- Large Spaces: Warehouses, stadiums, and power generation facilities.
- Special Hazards: Tunnels, LNG storage, and data centers.

FAQ
Q: What is a Diaphragm Type Deluge Valve?
A: A fire protection valve that uses a diaphragm to control water flow, opening automatically when triggered by heat or smoke detectors to release water across a large area.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: Common sizes range from DN50 (2") to DN200 (8"), with flange diameters from 165 mm to 340 mm.
Q: Where is Diaphragm Type Deluge Valve commonly used?
A: High-hazard areas like oil refineries, chemical plants, aircraft hangars, and large warehouses.
Q: How is Diaphragm Type Deluge Valve installed?
A: Vertically or horizontally mounted between the fire pump and sprinkler system, with flanged connections.
Q: How often should Diaphragm Type Deluge Valve be inspected?
A: Monthly visual checks and annual hydrostatic testing at 1.5x working pressure.
