Foam Chamber Storage Tank

Foinbo®  Low Expansion Foam Chamber is a specialized fire protection device designed to deliver low-expansion foam directly onto the surface of flammable liquids stored in fixed-roof tanks, such as those found in oil refineries, chemical plants, and marine terminals. By generating a dense, stable foam blanket, it effectively suppresses vapor release, cools the liquid surface, and prevents reignition, making it a critical component in industrial fire safety systems.

• Construction Materials: Typically fabricated from carbon steel or stainless steel, these chambers are coated with epoxy-based paints (e.g., red epoxy) to resist corrosion in harsh environments. Some models feature 304/316 stainless steel for enhanced durability in marine or chemical-heavy settings.
• Foam Expansion Ratio: Low-expansion foam chambers produce foam with an expansion ratio of 6:1 to 10:1, meaning 100 liters of foam solution generate 600–1,000 liters of foam. This dense foam is ideal for covering large liquid surfaces quickly and maintaining stability under wind or turbulence.
• Flow Rate Options: Available in multiple configurations, such as PCL4 (4 L/s), PCL8 (8 L/s), and PCL16 (16 L/s), these chambers cater to tanks of varying capacities, from small storage vessels to massive crude oil tanks.
• Operating Pressure: Designed to function within a pressure range of 0.3–0.6 MPa (3–6 bar), with test pressures up to 12 bar to ensure structural integrity under extreme conditions.
• Aspiration Mechanism: Air is drawn into the foam solution via a venturi effect within the chamber, creating a homogeneous foam mixture. This process eliminates the need for external air compressors, simplifying installation and reducing costs.
• Vapor Seal: Equipped with a frangible vapor seal, the chamber prevents vapor ingress into the piping system when inactive. Upon activation, the seal ruptures, allowing foam to flow freely onto the tank surface.
