Overview
Water Foam Nozzle is a firefighting nozzle designed to discharge water, foam solution, or finished foam, depending on how it's connected and set up. You'll see these a lot in industrial, petrochemical, airport, and marine fire protection systems.
What it does:
- Mixes water + foam concentrate (via a foam proportioner)
- Produces aspirated or non-aspirated foam
- Can usually switch between straight stream, spray, and foa
Common types
- Aspirating Foam Nozzle
- Non-Aspirating Foam Nozzle
- Dual-Purpose Foam Nozzle
Key features
- Materials: Aluminum alloy, brass, stainless steel
- Flow rate: from 100 LPM to 3000+ LPM
- Spray patterns: straight stream / fog / foam
- Connection: NST, NPT, BSP, flange
- Often has on/off or pattern control handle
Fire classes covered
- Class A – solids (wood, paper) with water or foam solution
- Class B – flammable liquids with foam
- ❌Not suitable for Class D (metal fires)
Why choose a water foam nozzle
- Flexible: water + foam in one device
- Fast knockdown on liquid fires
- Reduced water damage compared to water-only attack
